Vocal Technique and Song Interpretation (VTSI) for short is Kenora Opera Theatre’s young artist programme.
Singers pay a fee comparable to that of regular private lessons to study together as a group. Lessons include discussion on technique, regular voice lessons with Olivia and regular work with guest artists throughout the year.
Our young artists are encouraged to make their own musical and performance choices. We encourage discussion on how and what to perform. Our season began with students choosing their own pieces to sing with harpist, Esme Boone. Their assigned works this year include Bach’s Peasant Cantata (BWV 212). They will also be performing the commissioned work by Laura-Lee Pernsky, “Death on the Lake.” “Death on the Lake” features standard jazz music that will be lead by Wayne Kelso.
VTSI gives our singers the opportunity to shine!
